For a half-century, JV Manufacturing has been more than just a producer of precision tooling; we’ve built a legacy rooted in innovation, quality, and deep commitment to our people and community. Opened in June 1975 by John Vecchi and Samuel Gruber, what began as a dream quickly evolved into a reality. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary in June, we reflect on the pivotal moments that have shaped our journey and look ahead to a future of continued excellence.
JV Manufacturing officially opened for business on June 4, 1975, in the back of an ice cream shop in Sarver Pennsylvania. Fueled by a passion for quality and a vision to produce “the better carbide die,” John and Sam set the foundation for a company that would grow far beyond its modest beginnings.
Just a year later, in June 1976, JVM moved to a larger facility on Main Street in Freeport to accommodate increasing demand. In January 1977, the second generation joined the company when Alan Vecchi came on board.
By April 1980, JV opened the doors to its current headquarters on Burtner Road in Natrona Heights, PA – an important milestone that signaled a new era of growth and long-term stability.
Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, JV continued to strengthen its reputation for delivering high-precision carbide dies and metal stamping solutions across industries including aerospace, automotive, medical, and consumer products. This era laid the groundwork for a series of strategic expansions.
In May 1995, the first two major additions were completed at the Burtner Road facility, expanding JV’s die assembly and manufacturing capacity. This enabled the company to better serve customers’ evolving needs and tackle more complex challenges.
The company made a bold move in July 2001, acquiring three large stamping presses and bringing intricate stamping work in-house – adding new technical capabilities and control over production.
Growth continued in April 2003 with the second major addition to the Burtner Road location, creating more room for innovation and expanding operations.
In September 2008, JV entered into a groundbreaking partnership with PEM Technologies to bring electrochemical machining (ECM) to the U.S. market, solidifying its commitment to staying on the cutting edge of technology.
January 2009 marked a significant transition as founders John and Sam retired after 34 years of leadership. Their vision and dedication laid the foundation for everything that came after.
Under the leadership of Alan Vecchi, JV continued to modernize and expand. In October 2015, the company purchased a second building on Acee Drive, adding 60,000 square feet to accommodate increasing production demands and further streamline operations.
The next chapter of family leadership began in November 2020, when the third generation, Ryan Vecchi and his wife Melissa, assumed control of the organization. With fresh energy and a shared commitment to quality, they led the company into a new era.
In December 2021, Alan officially retired, completing a generational handoff that preserved JV’s values while opening the door to new opportunities.
In March 2024, all stamping operations were consolidated at the Acee Drive location, improving workflow efficiency and making space for future growth across both facilities.
On June 4, 2025, we’ll proudly celebrate 50 years of JV Manufacturing. From our humble start to our two modern facilities serving global industries, our journey has been one of purpose, precision, and perseverance.
As we look ahead, we remain driven by the same values that brought us here: a relentless commitment to innovation, exceptional craftsmanship, and the people – our employees, customers, and community – who make it all possible.
